A regular facial routine is more about your skin health and maintenance than it is about being pampered. Facial services help increase the circulation and stimulate the skin. They may also help slow down premature aging and considerably improve conditions such as redness, acne, and Rosacea. Facials are a great preventative treatment to help you beat wrinkles before they occur. For men, facials help to minimized irritation, ingrown hairs and razor burn due to shaving.

Did you know that the skin is the largest organ in your body? Your skin helps defend against extreme temperature and environmental assaults. It helps eliminate toxins from the body and continually protects and renews. To look and feel its best, your skin needs personal attention from a professional licensed esthetician. Valerie Terkay is trained to deliver professional skin treatments that will target your specific needs, and prescribe the products that will help maintain your optimum skin health at home in between facials.

It is good to arrive to your first appointment about 5-10 minutes early. Then I’ll evaluate your skin using a magnify lamp, ask you about your goals for your skin and make a recommendation for skincare products and treatments to assist you reaching your goals. A facial generally consists of a cleansing, extractions, exfoliation, steam, massage, heated hand mitts, and a treatment mask.

Facials are designed to work on your skin from the décolleté (chest) up, plan on removing your makeup or it will be done prior to your facial. A head wrap will be used to protect your hair and a thorough cleanse will be done at the beginning of the facial. Men should be clean shaved unless bearded. Then simply be ready to relax and enjoy yourself in our private, relaxing room.

You should never feel irritation or discomfort during your facial. The Eminence products I use are created to be non-irritating, and I will select the best products for your skin type. If for some reason you should feel discomfort, please tell me immediately.

Many people see results immediately, and your skin will feel different right away. Your skin feels, clean, smooth, hydrated, and a new level of health is visibly noticeable. If the skin has more advanced long-term needs, such as aging, acne or hyper-pigmentation caused by hormonal fluctuations or sun damage, results may not be immediately visible; however, skin health will continue to improve by you following my advice and using a good home-care regimen.

Simply said….healthy skin! The Eminence products I use are designed to help keep skin at an optimal level– not just cover up with cosmetic results. Also, when skin is at an optimal level of fitness, I can easily address issues that may arise from time to time, as your skin’s needs are constantly changing.

Your skin goes through its own fluctuations. So does nature. Add air conditioning and forced-air heating, and the skin is constantly under assault. Low temperatures can dry out skin, contributing to dryness, sensitivity, and premature aging. Prolonged exposure to the sun causes water to evaporate from skin. Forced-air heating also dries out skin. Chances are with a few product updates; you can keep skin healthy year-round.

Not necessarily but talk to me about the products you are using. Many products from drug stores or beauty counters contain ingredients cause or contribute to skin issues such as acne breakouts, dryness, oiliness, and redness.

Having a facial once a month is a good start. We offer facial packages that save you money. However, we can discuss your specific needs, desired outcomes, and schedule together.
